Caltrans has announced its Call for Projects for a three-year term for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310, Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities, $20 million statewide for rural and small urban areas; $28 million statewide for large urban areas. Funded grants will provide three-year support to a mix of vehicle operations, vehicle purchases and other projects, including mobility management on behalf of seniors and persons with disabilities.
Applications and detailed information for the funding of “traditional” 5310 capital projects and “expanded” 5310 operations or mobility management projects are available through the Caltrans website at http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/MassTrans/5310.html.
A grant workshop will be held at the Caltrans District 4 headquarters at 111 Grand Avenue in Oakland on Tuesday, January 10 at 9:30 am. The purpose of the workshops is to assist eligible recipients in understanding the grant cycle process by reviewing the general requirements and the entire application step by step.
A letter of interest must be submitted to NVTA by 5 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 with the following elements:
1) Project Title
2) Project Description
3) Amount Request and Total Project Budget
An NVTA staff person will follow up with interested organizations for further information.
