Bicycling in Napa County

The Napa Valley Transportation Authority works to make bicycling an integral part of daily life. To accomplish this, we use three primary approaches:

- Planning, implementing, and maintaining a bikeway network

- Providing secure bicycle parking at Park and Ride Lots in Yountville, Napa (Redwood P&R and Soscol Gateway Transit Center) and American Canyon

- Educating people about the role of bicycle transportation in keeping our communities livable, and encouraging residents to choose bicycling for more of their daily trips.

Napa Valley Vine Trail:

The Napa Valley Vine Trail projects to build a walking/ biking trail connecting the entire Napa Valley. This 47-mile Napa Valley Vine Trail will be the key link in Napa County, California’s county-wide trail system which also includes portions of the region-wide Bay Trail and Ridge Trail. Detailed planning for the Vine Trail was started by the Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency when, in 2007, they commissioned The Greenway Feasibility Study 19. This Study was completed in 2008 and formally accepted by NVTA in March 2009.
