What is SB 1?
Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, was signed into law on April 28, 2017. This legislative package invests $5.4 billion a year to fix roads, freeways and bridges in communities across California and puts more dollars toward transit and safety.
SB 1 provides support for state and local systems to meet four critical needs: road rehabilitation, congestion relief, trade corridor improvements and improve transit and rail travel.
Why is SB 1 important to me?
Roads and Highways in Napa County have been neglected for decades due to underfunding. SB 1 makes long awaited transportation projects in Napa County a realization. Along with repair and rehabilitation of Napa County roads, SB1 will support additional mobility expansion in the County such as bikeways, walkable communities and express lanes.
Napa County will receive $79 Million over a 10-year period to improve local streets and roads, expand the County’s growing network of pedestrian and cycle routes,
and increase transit services.
